Based in Dallas, the Texas Stock Exchange is the first major U.S. exchange introduced in decades, and the TXSE—nicknamed “Tex‑ee”—aims to challenge the NYSE and Nasdaq for listings.

Among its backers are major financial firms such as BlackRock, Goldman Sachs and Charles Schwab.

The exchange intends to start corporate listings later this year and aims to handle IPOs beginning in 2027. TXSE views Texas’s economic surge and the wider “Boom Belt” of the South as the new “center of gravity for American capitalism,” offering a fertile IPO market.

The Texas Stock Exchange (TXSE) is based in Dallas and is currently operating out of a temporary headquarters.

“As the only primary corporate and ETP listings venue built and headquartered in the Boom Belt, TXSE is both a product of the region’s rise and a catalyst to accelerate it,” TXSE

The TXSE hopes that its proximity to the “Boom Belt” will make it a more attractive option for Southern companies seeking IPOs.

The exchange plans to move its permanent headquarters to the city’s Bank of America Tower, where it will operate the Texas Market Center.

When finished, the tower will become Uptown Dallas’s tallest structure, and the Texas Market Center within it will house executive offices, a Texas business museum, and a broadcast studio.

Designer KPF announced in May that the exchange will occupy several sections of the building, such as ground‑level space and a sky lobby on the 12th floor.

The New York Stock Exchange and Nasdaq have each opened exchanges in Texas to allow dual listings

The launch of the Texas Stock Exchange coincides with Texas’s effort to draw companies that want to move headquarters or re‑incorporate, highlighting its business‑friendly policies and lower taxes relative to states such as California and New York.

Both the NYSE and Nasdaq have broadened their presence in Texas, encouraging firms to dual‑list on the new exchanges without charge.
