Investor focus remained on the AI trade after a Reuters story disclosed details from a leaked Anthropic IPO prospectus, which shows the lab aiming for a $2 trillion valuation and warning that AI could present “existential risks to humanity.” Anthropic has not yet released an official filing.

At the same time, rival startup OpenAI paused development of its frontier AI model because safety issues emerged during internal testing.

The AI rally largely depends on Anthropic and OpenAI going public. Earlier Tuesday, <a uncertainty."

Oil prices eased as Saudi Arabia resumed shipments through its East‑West pipeline and U.S. and Iranian officials met with mediators to restart fragmented talks. Brent crude futures (BZ=F) hovered around $96 a barrel, while WTI crude (CL=F) traded near $91.

Economic data released Tuesday morning painted a bleaker picture for the U.S. economy ahead of Friday’s jobs report, with consumer confidence dropping to its lowest level since 2014.

In the labor market, job openings slipped to 7.097 million in August, below economists’ forecast of 7.228 million and down from the revised August total of 7.335 million.
