The Ethereum, and XRP all attempted to surpass significant resistance levels this week, but each has surrendered those gains during a decline over the past hour.
This sell-off occurred alongside reports suggesting the US military is preparing for potential large-scale combat operations in Iran.

Why Bitcoin Stalled
Bitcoin’s upward movement encountered a firm barrier. An analyst monitoring Bitcoin across multiple timeframes had identified the $80,000 to $82,000 range as a major resistance zone, noting that it previously served as support before flipping. The price action unfolded as follows:
Bitcoin dipped slightly below $76,000 to clear out leveraged positions before rebounding.
The recovery lost steam as it approached the $80,000 to $82,000 resistance level.
The daily chart continues to display a bearish divergence, indicating weakening momentum, which has yet to be invalidated.
The same analysis had cautioned that even if the rally persisted, Bitcoin would likely face difficulty clearing this zone rather than breaking through decisively.
Ethereum And XRP Lost Their Breakouts
Ethereum had briefly climbed above $2,400, testing a critical threshold between $2,360 and $2,380. A confirmed breakout required a daily close above $2,400. With the price now back near $2,283, that breakout attempt has stalled for the time being.
XRP had been attempting to push past $1.27 to $1.29, a zone that provided support for nearly two months. At $1.26, the asset has slipped back below that range.
Bitcoin’s dominance of the total crypto market remains stuck near resistance at 60.5% to 61%. As long as this holds, most altcoins are expected to track Bitcoin’s performance.
What’s Next For Bitcoin, Ethereum And XRP?
Bitcoin levels to watch:
Support: $75,000 to $76,000
Resistance: $80,000 to $82,000, with a cluster of liquidation orders near $82,000
Risk: If Bitcoin continues to face rejection below $80,000 to $82,000 and retreats to the mid-$70,000s, it could complete a bearish head-and-shoulders pattern, signaling a potential drop to the low-to-mid $60,000s. This pattern is not yet confirmed.
Ethereum levels to watch:
Breakout trigger: a daily close above $2,400
Next resistance: $2,520 to $2,540
XRP levels to watch:
Breakout trigger: a move back above $1.27 to $1.29
Next resistance: about $1.33, then $1.35 to $1.36
The long-term outlook for Bitcoin remains intact. The weekly Supertrend indicator is still showing green, and a bullish divergence on the weekly chart is still present. In the short term, however, the market is undergoing a cooling-off period. With geopolitical risks rising, buyers must defend the $75,000 to $76,000 zone to prevent a more significant pullback.
