Bitcoin’s MACD Improves Without a Bullish Crossover
Bitcoin concluded the October 19 session at $81,843.70, a decline of 0.19%, after hitting a high of $83,100. Although the price traded above the $82,538–$82,826 resistance zone mentioned in Monday’s report, it failed to maintain that level by the close. Consequently, the move through resistance was merely intraday rather than a confirmed daily breakout.
The daily MACD for $BTC/USD (12,26,9) remains below its signal line despite a less-negative histogram, and the most recent session failed to close above $83,100.
The daily MACD, calculated using 12- and 26-period exponential averages with a nine-period signal EMA, stayed in bearish territory. The MACD line dropped to −10.68 against a signal of 393.08.
The histogram saw improvement, moving to −403.76 from −456.84, which signals a narrowing gap between the lines rather than a bullish crossover. Additionally, the MACD line crossed below the zero mark on the completed candle.
The most recent four-hour histogram was positive at 73.83, indicating that short-term momentum is currently stronger than the daily reading suggests.
CoinGecko’s quote was nonetheless 0.50% lower than the $82,428 snapshot provided in Monday’s report, representing a separate comparison from the rolling 24-hour change.
A daily close surpassing $83,100 would bolster a recovery toward the $84,049–$84,250 range, which represents the cluster of highs from October 12–14.
Conversely, falling below $81,648 on a daily close would undermine the current rebound and expose the $80,568 level. A close beneath the October 15 low of $79,709 would invalidate the existing recovery structure.
Ethereum’s RSI Remains Below Neutral
Ethereum finished at $2,405.43, down 0.09% following a session that ranged between $2,382.78 and $2,443.70. The daily chart continues to trade below the October 16 high of $2,490.84 and the previous $2,527–$2,535 resistance zone, meaning the broader October pullback remains in effect.
The 14-day RSI for $ETH/USD (Wilder) sits at 37.87 as Ethereum trades under the $2,443.70 resistance level and above the October 15 low of $2,313.42.
The 14-day RSI, using Wilder smoothing, dipped to 37.87 from 38.03. It remains below the neutral 50 mark without reaching the traditional 30 oversold threshold.
This indicates weak momentum rather than a definitive signal that a rebound is imminent. The four-hour RSI was slightly stronger at 47.54, though it also remains below neutral.
Ethereum’s aggregate quote was 0.60% lower than the $2,425.66 snapshot from the October 17 edition.
The previous downside reference at $2,313.42 remains relevant, though subsequent sessions have failed to generate a sustained recovery.
A daily close above $2,443.70 would improve the immediate technical structure and bring $2,490.84 into view. Clearing that second level would strengthen the potential for a test of the $2,527–$2,535 range.
On the other hand, a close below $2,382.78 would expose $2,354.01 and $2,326.25. Dropping below $2,313.42 on a daily close would invalidate the developing base.
Solana Rebounds Beneath Two Falling Averages
Solana rose 0.89% on its completed daily candle to close at $104.95. While this extended the recovery from Sunday’s low of $100.34, the price remained below the 50-day exponential moving average at $106.75 and the 20-day EMA at $108.96.
Both averages declined from the prior session. Since the faster 20-day average remained above the 50-day average, the chart did not trigger a new bearish crossover.
The primary signal remains straightforward: the price continues to trade beneath two declining trend references.
Four-hour price action appeared slightly more resilient. The latest completed close was above its 20-period EMA at $104.28 but remained below the 50-period EMA at $106.01.
This supports a short-term rebound narrative without negating the overall daily trend.
A daily close above Monday’s high of $106.08 would bring the 50-day EMA within reach. A subsequent close above the $108.91–$108.96 range, where the October 13 high meets the 20-day EMA, would significantly improve the recovery toward $111.92–$113.27.
Failure to maintain $103.43 would weaken this scenario and bring $101.00 into focus. A daily close below $100.34 would invalidate the current rebound.
Aerodrome Loses Support Despite Its 24-Hour Gain
Aerodrome’s positive rolling return stands in contrast to a weaker completed daily chart. It closed October 19 at $0.7957, a decline of 0.39%, following Sunday’s close below $0.8300. The October 16 report had identified that level as the invalidation point for the previous recovery.
The latest aggregate quote was 12.08% lower than the $0.919539 snapshot from that report. This reflects a multi-day comparison rather than the coin’s current 24-hour performance.
Daily Bollinger Bands, utilizing a 20-day simple moving average and two population standard de
The price remained below the midpoint but stayed within the bands. This reading suggests a weakened recovery rather than an automatic buy signal near the lower band.
Monday’s low of $0.7636 nearly mirrored the October 2 low of $0.7635, marking a clear test of support.
A daily close above $0.8090 would represent an initial improvement; reclaiming the $0.8516–$0.8574 range would recover the band midpoint and Sunday’s high, bolstering a move toward $0.9045.
A close below $0.7635 would invalidate the support hold and expose the lower-band reference near $0.7481, which is subject to change with subsequent closes.
Ondo Tests the First Retracement of Its Latest Decline
Ondo closed at $0.43493, up 0.10%, after rebounding from Sunday’s low of $0.41049. The recovery remained modest compared to the decline from the October 12 swing high of $0.53150.
Fibonacci levels are being used to measure the upward retracement of that specific October 12–18 downswing.
The 23.6% level sits at $0.43905, 38.2% at $0.45672, the 50% midpoint at $0.47100, and 61.8% at $0.48527. Monday’s completed close remained below the first level.
The live October 20 Kraken candle subsequently reached $0.44373 and was last traded at $0.44139 in the captured response.
While that moved the price above the 23.6% level intraday, it did not confirm a daily close above the retracement.
A daily close above Sunday’s high of $0.44496 would strengthen the rebound toward $0.45672.
Clearing that level would improve the outlook toward $0.47100 and the October 16 high of $0.47649. A daily close below $0.42764 would weaken the immediate recovery, with $0.42200 and $0.41049 serving as the next targets.
A new low beneath $0.41049 would invalidate these retracement anchors and necessitate a recalculation.
