XRP Rally Faster Than Bitcoin As BTC Hits 8-Month High

Bitcoin surged to an eight‑month high while Dogecoin, Sui, XRP, Cardano and Solana all posted larger gains than BTC over the past day.

A concentrated block of short positions on Bitcoin between $82,000 and $86,000 helped drive the rally as traders were forced to cover

CryptoQuant noted that Bitcoin’s climb from roughly $81,000 to $86,600 was powered by ETF demand, short liquidations and limited historical supply overhead.

Bitcoin (BTC) reached its highest level since January on Tuesday, yet the most notable moves for crypto traders occurred lower down the risk spectrum.

Dogecoin, Sui, XRP, Cardano and Solana each outperformed Bitcoin in the last 24 hours, buoyed by short covering, ETF demand and a revived risk appetite that lifted the broader market.

According to CoinGlass data, Bitcoin’s dominance slipped 0.1% in the past day, while the Altseason Index sat at 62, hinting that an altcoin season may be beginning.

DOGE, XRP, SOL outperform BTC in 24 hours

Dogecoin (DOGE) posted the biggest rise at 12.2%. Sui (SUI) followed with an 8.3% gain, then XRP (XRP) at 6.2%, Cardano (ADA) at 5.7% and Solana (SOL) at 4.3% over the same period, compared with Bitcoin’s increase of just over 2%.

Retail Traders Turn Bullish On DOGE, SUI

On Stocktwits, DOGE ranked among the top trending tickers. Retail sentiment for DOGE shifted from a bearish to a bullish stance during the last day.

One retail trader suggested a short squeeze could be on the horizon for DOGE.

On Stocktwits, sentiment for XRP, ADA and SOL moved from bullish to neutral, while sentiment for SUI stayed in the extremely bullish zone.

XRP and Solana also appeared among the top trending tickers on Stocktwits.

Bitcoin Short Squeeze Adds Fuel To Rally

Bitcoin accelerated after breaking through the short‑liquidation barrier. Glassnode posted on X that Bitcoin was climbing into a thickening liquidation shelf.

Glassnode explained that short positions betting on a decline had accumulated over months and were clustered between $82,000 and $86,000. As pullbacks in that range remained modest, short sellers repurchased Bitcoin to close their trades, adding further momentum to the rally.

On‑chain analytics firm CryptoQuant reported that Bitcoin’s price rose from about $81,000 to $86,600 in a single day—a gain of roughly 6.7%. The surge was driven by spot ETF demand, short liquidations and constrained historical supply overhead.
