QIA and General Atlantic expand their partnership to co-invest across the innovation economy globally

QIA commits $500 million to General Atlantic’s global growth equity strategic partnership, strengthening the ties between two major international investment institutions. Under the terms of this agreement, QIA has pledged $500 million toward General Atlantic’s global growth equity investment strategies.

This initiative highlights QIA’s ongoing dedication to international partnerships and long-term capital allocation, while reflecting General Atlantic’s strong belief in the region’s future. Together, these organizations are demonstrating a shared, long-term strategic vision for the opportunities ahead.

Beyond the financial commitment, the partnership encompasses a wide range of strategic efforts. General Atlantic and QIA will work together on thematic research and market analysis to enhance investment sourcing and conviction, while also assisting portfolio companies looking to enter Middle Eastern markets. Furthermore, General Atlantic will offer professional development programs for QIA staff to facilitate knowledge transfer, encourage innovation, and help cultivate the next generation of investment leaders in line with Qatar’s National Development Strategy objectives.

“This partnership is more than co-investing – it’s about fostering a culture of excellence and equipping the next generation of our leaders with the knowledge and perspective they need to succeed,” said Mohammed Saif Al-Sowaidi, CEO of QIA.“We are delighted to expand our relationship with General Atlantic and to continue advancing our shared mission of building long-term value.”

“We are proud to deepen our partnership with QIA, one of the world’s leading sovereign investors,” said Bill Ford, Chairman and CEO of General Atlantic. “Qatar has fostered a dynamic economy, a vibrant entrepreneurial ecosystem, and a new generation of globally minded talent. This milestone reflects our strong conviction in the Middle East’s long-term growth potential, and our continued commitment to supporting the founders and businesses shaping the region’s future.”

General Atlantic has maintained a presence in the Middle East for over a decade, deploying more than $3 billion since 2012. The firm has expanded its local footprint, including the opening of offices in Riyadh and Abu Dhabi in 2024. The firm views the GCC as a structurally attractive region for sustained growth, supported by policy-driven economic diversification, developing capital markets, and a rapidly evolving entrepreneurial landscape.
